Description

What is EMS? Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS) is a type of electrotherapy stimulates a muscle contraction using electrical impulses. The impulses are generated by a device and delivered through electrodes (pads that adhere to the body) over the middle of the muscles that require stimulating. The impulses from EMS mimic the action potential (stimulus required to make the muscle contract) coming from the central nervous system. This causes the muscles to contract. Once the muscle begins to fatigue and relax, the existing muscle spasms begin to settle, leading to pain relief and accelerated healing from the injury. The contractions also trigger the natural release of endorphins, thus further relieving pain in the targeted area. - Active stimulation: triggers contractions that, combined with exercise, activate muscle fibres, resulting in a higher calorie expenditure than with conventional exercise. It also accelerates the metabolism, burns fat and increases muscle mass exponentially. A single 25-minute session provides a workout for the entire body: Chest, Upper and Lower back, Arms, Abdomen, Buttocks, Quadriceps, Hamstrings, Calves, equivalent to 2-3 hours of conventional training. - Passive treatment: for patients who are unable to engage in direct exercise programmes for rehabilitation, electrical muscle stimulation is a successful alternative. Studies have found that electrical muscle stimulation can be just as effective as rehabilitation exercise programmes, leading to similar levels of pain relief and reduced stiffness. Benefits : Health - Inflammation - Muscle Spasms - Edema - Rehabilitation - Low range of motion - High stress Sport - Strength - Cardio - Endurance - Metabolic - Contracture - Recovery Esthetic and Wellness - Fitness - Slim - Cellulitis - Pelvic floor - Muscle gain - Toning and Relaxation
